Despite only being in early access, there is already a lot available just off of early gameplay footage. There is so much to look forward to in My Time At Sandrock for fans of crafting, farming, and simulation games. While not much else is known about the length of the game, players should expect to at least play beyond that marker, especially with the promise of hundreds of side quests to do. Previous gameplay demos have shown up to four hours of the game's story so far. Lastly, the game will have a story that will be taking place alongside the optional side-missions involving the townspeople. It is unknown if Multiplayer will be implemented before the game's full launch but considering how bad co-op is in Stardew Valley and other farming sims, the devs must take the time to get it right. While those that backed the game on Kickstarter were given access to multiplayer for testing, it will not be available yet for buyers of the early access title. While multiplayer and co-op are planned for My Time At Sandrock, they will not be available during early access and will be released later. While gunplay has not been shown in promotional materials, the melee combat appears fluid and possesses a simple amount of combos and tactics. Currently, there are four melee weapons available: the spear, daggers, greatsword, and sword and shield, along with a complement of guns. Weapons, equipment, and consumables can be crafted to give players an edge when fighting the various monsters of the desert. Players can now shift between melee combat and 3rd person shooting for a seamless transition in tactics. Additionally, several new minigames have been announced including dune buggy racing, sand fishing, and gun fighting.Ĭombat is revamped for My Time at Sandrock. However, the holidays in My Time At Sandrock will be much different from those in Portia. Other returning features from My Time At Portia are minigames and holidays, each offering new ways for players to interact with the town and its people. Players may build romantic relationships with any of their potential love interests regardless of gender, keeping the LGBTQ-inclusive themes of its predecessor. As of now, there are 10 bachelors and 8 bachelorettes romanceable in-game. Building relationships with the citizens of Sandrock will have tangible in-game effects including new missions, stat boosts, cheaper goods, and helping hands. My Time At Sandrock is expected to have over 30 characters by launch and most are reported to have character-specific questlines. Relationship building is expected to be a major part of the game. ![]()
